Hi, I’m Kendall.
I had a classmate in college whose words changed my life (and she doesn’t even remember telling this to me). She said “we make time for the things we love.” After that, I reevaluated what I was making time for and rescheduled my days to prioritize whatever brought me joy. I no longer said “yes” to every commitment that came my way. I started spending my valuable time only on things I truly loved and found I was much happier once I cut the clutter out. This blog is devoted to those things that bring me joy, and hopefully you too.
What should I expect to read?
I love style and beauty. My approach to fashion is minimal, sometimes a little daring, and lately, leaning toward what I call “English Lady of the Country Who Rides Horses” (not that I am any of those things). The way I dress reflects who I am and what I value. And lets be honest – looking good makes you feel good. But because our outward appearance isn’t all that contributes to our sense of well being, you can also find articles about finding balance and simplifying your life here. Besides that, I like to have fun with topics, such as bold wallpapers, travel tips, and relationships.
I’m a weekend warrior and a homebody. During the week, I live a pretty scheduled and uneventful life. I go to work, work out, cook dinner, and relax from the day. But on the weekend, I crave activeness and excitement. Packed weekends are the best weekends. I play a lot of tennis, attend local summer festivals, try out new breakfast spots (which is my favorite meal to eat out for), explore beautiful hikes/bike paths, drive to new cities, ski, and try new recipes. Some of my most memorable days are those times when I took a leap of faith and lived outside of my comfort zone. Those experiences are what make life worth living. I also love puns, so I combined my favorite days (the weekend) with my name (Kendall) to get WEEKENDALL.
A little about me…
I have to start off by saying I’m tall; really tall. 6’2″ tall, and I love it. Finding pants that are long enough is always a struggle, but my height is what makes me unique. I played volleyball in college and now coach young women in the sport (something I truly love). By day, I’m a project manager and content writer for an AMAZING digital marketing agency. I have a deep deep passion for puns and no day of mine is complete without eating cheese or chocolate.
I grew up in Southern California and have a love for Western geography, especially the desert. Every summer, my family would pack up our minivan and drive to a new National Park to camp for a week. Many of my favorite childhood memories happened in our beautiful National Parks, hiking, biking, telling ghost stories, and roasting marshmallows alongside my many cousins. Some of my favorites include Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, Zion, Yellowstone, and Glacier.
Aside from the outdoors, I love style. I love bold lips, neutral colored pieces, and modern silhouettes. Style should be fun and personal. I prefer classic styles over trendy and will always lean towards something comfortable and practical. My closet is small, because I think there is value in having a few pieces that really speak to you instead of many items that are mediocre.
Thank you for stopping by. I hope that WEEKENDALL can bring a smile to your face and inspire you to try something new.
